What is restorative dentistry?

Every tooth deserves a comeback story!

Enhanced functionality

Restorative treatments help restore the functionality of damaged teeth, so you can eat, speak, and smile comfortably again. Because at Lake Dental Care, we believe you should have your steak and eat it too!

Improved appearance

Treatments like crowns, bridges, and veneers enhance the look of your teeth, helping you feel more confident in your smile.

Long-lasting solutions

Our restorative care provides durable, long-term results, meaning you can enjoy a strong, healthy smile for years to come.

Restorative dentistry offers a range of benefits, from improved function to enhanced appearance. Whether you need to fix a cavity, restore a broken tooth, or replace missing teeth, restorative care gives you a smile that works just as well as it looks.

Our restorative dentistry treatments

Fillings

Fillings are used to repair cavities and restore the strength of a tooth after decay. At Lake Dental Care, we use tooth-colored composite fillings that blend seamlessly with your natural teeth for a more aesthetic result. Mercury belongs in the solar system, not in your mouth — which is why we only place composite (white) fillings in our office. Our team ensures the process is comfortable, efficient, and tailored to your needs, restoring your tooth’s function without compromising its appearance.

Crowns

Crowns are custom-made caps that restore damaged or weakened teeth, providing strength and improving appearance. Whether you need a crown for a cracked tooth, a large filling, or to protect a root canal, we use advanced CEREC technology to design and place your crown in a single visit. This allows for a faster, more efficient treatment, without the need for a temporary restoration. Same-day crowns give you the convenience of completing your procedure in one visit, so you can get back to your routine without delay.

Bridges

Bridges are used to replace missing teeth by “bridging” the gap with a custom prosthetic that connects to the adjacent teeth. At Lake Dental Care, we create durable, natural-looking bridges that restore both the function and appearance of your smile. In many cases, bridges can be designed and delivered the same day using our in-office CEREC mill machines, reducing the need for multiple appointments.

Dentures

Dentures are removable appliances used to replace missing teeth, and they can be full or partial depending on your needs. We create custom dentures designed for comfort, durability, and aesthetics. Whether you need a full set of dentures or a partial for a few missing teeth, our restorative team ensures a comfortable fit and natural look.

Implants

While we do not surgically place dental implants in our office, we restore a large number of implants and coordinate closely with trusted specialists for placement. Once your implant has healed, we design and attach the custom restoration that completes your smile. Using advanced digital scanning and CEREC technology, we create precise, natural-looking implant restorations that are strong, functional, and built to last, with same-day options available in many cases. Our focus is ensuring your implant feels secure, looks seamless, and functions just like a natural tooth.

The restorative dentistry process

1

Consultation and examination

Your first step is a thorough consultation, where we assess your oral health and discuss your goals in order to create a treatment plan. We use advanced imaging and diagnostic tools to ensure we choose the right solution for your needs.

2

Treatment planning

After your examination, we’ll work with you to finalize a treatment plan that fits your schedule and goals. Whether it’s filling a cavity or creating a custom crown, we’ll ensure you’re comfortable with the process and timeline.

3

Treatment and follow-up care

Once we’ve crafted your personalized plan, we’ll perform your restorative treatment. Whether it’s a single visit for a crown or a longer process for dentures, we focus on comfort and precision. Afterward, we’ll schedule follow-up visits to monitor your progress and ensure your results last.

Frequently asked questions

Below are answers to common questions about restorative dentistry and our services.

Maybe... but maybe not. Teeth don't always send pain signals right away. A small crack or cavity can quietly grow into a bigger problem over time. When in doubt, let us check it out. We'd much rather catch it early.

That's probably the question we hear most. The short answer? Our goal is to keep you as comfortable as possible. We use modern techniques, gentle care, and plenty of communication to make your visit much easier than you might expect.

Often, yes! Thanks to today's materials and technology, many cracked, broken, or decayed teeth can be restored rather than removed. Saving your natural tooth is almost always our first choice when it's possible.

Sometimes, despite our best efforts, a tooth is too damaged to restore. If that's the case, don't worry—you still have options. We'll walk you through solutions like dental implants, bridges, or partial dentures to help restore your smile.

That's the goal! Once your treatment is complete (and the numbness wears off), most patients are back to enjoying their favorite foods with comfort and confidence.
